Felting needles can be classified in needles with single deflation path and good rigidity and needles with double deflation path and good flexibility. Needles below gauge 32 can be both types, while needles beyond gauge 32 can only be type with double deflation path, and if the taper is lengthened appropriately, needle breakage can be reduced.
