Common F type barb has the advantage of good penetrability and ability in carrying fur. It is generally used on pre-needle. However, it also has the disvantage of cutting off part of fiber. If 3D smooth barb with round edge and arc surface is applied, such as barbs in G type, GB type and L type, the effect of usage will be fairly ideal. Open style felting needles make barbs carry fur better.
